Tampa has plenty competing for your weekend calendar. Saturday brings music at Julian B. Lane Park, comedy on Franklin Street and football at Raymond James Stadium. Prefer something smaller? The libraries have a free teen activity Friday and an adult nature program Saturday. Choose your pace—and leave extra time for the downtown crowds.

Live music: Saturday’s Pig Jig

The Tampa Pig Jig returns Saturday, October 17, to Julian B. Lane Park, with Thomas Rhett, Midland, Kameron Marlowe, Sister Hazel and Cassidy Davis. The organizer’s FAQ puts the first artist around 1 p.m. and the headliner around 8 p.m.; those are approximate performance times, not a confirmed gate-opening time.

Listed all-in prices are $140 general admission, $275 GA+ and $590 for the Milestone Supply Lounge, subject to availability. Children 10 and younger enter free with a ticketed adult. Buy online; there are no event-day on-site ticket sales. For more planning detail, read our Pig Jig guide.

Live comedy: Zoltan Kaszas

Zoltan Kaszas brings his WORLDWIDE(ish) Tour to Tampa Theatre, 711 N. Franklin Street, on Saturday, October 17, at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6. The venue lists online totals of $46.25–$68.75, including taxes and fees. Check the official ticket link for remaining seats. Tampa Theatre states that it is wheelchair accessible and offers assisted-listening devices; ask guest services about specific needs.

Community corner: something quieter

Friday in Tampa: A beginner crochet class for teens runs October 16, 4–5 p.m., at Robert W. Saunders, Sr. Public Library, 1505 N. Nebraska Avenue.

Saturday nearby—in Valrico: “Florida-Friendly Landscaping: Going Batty” explores Florida bats on October 17, 11 a.m.–noon, at Bloomingdale Regional Public Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Avenue. Recommended for adults.

Both appear in the County’s free October library-program roundup. Registration is recommended; confirm space and current status with the library at (813) 273-3652 before making the trip.

Home football: Saturday and Sunday

USF hosts Kent State at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, October 17, at 7 p.m., with ESPN+ coverage. Then the Buccaneers host Pittsburgh there Sunday, October 18, at 1 p.m., on CBS and 98ROCK. Use the teams’ official links for tickets and parking; no fixed admission price is assumed.

Leave room for the trip

The City expects heavier downtown traffic Saturday. Consider the free TECO Line Streetcar where its route fits your plans, and check parking and current road closures before leaving. The congestion advisory is not itself a new road closure.
